The course Sociology 241 is the study of Contemporary Social Problems that is designed to fuel student’s interest on society’s problems and to help them better understand how these social problems are created. It focuses on the causes and possible solutions of social problems, as well as the application of sociological theories to better understand them. This course teaches students that each individual deals with different issues in their lifetime, and that social class can strongly affect one’s outcome in life.
